Tim was born in 1958 to Brian and Ruth, the eldest of three children. His mother and sister, Alison were the artistic ones in the family, Tim only began painting as part of his rehabilitation after illness forced him to retire.
Tim attended Alderman Leach Primary in his home town of Darlington before going on to Hummersknott school and QE Sixth form College. Tim followed his parents into education and taught for 22 years.
His main love throughout his life however has been the sport of cricket. His late father represented Darlington CC and Durham CCC and Tim also played for Darlington CC.As a 15 year old he represented the North of England and almost joined Northants. He played for Durham City and South Moor CC whilst studying at Durham University, Nevilles Cross and spent 5 years at Darlington RA CC.
In 1986 Tim married Mel having met her whilst playing hocket for the town team. They both played county hockey, Mel for Durham ladies Indoor team and Tim for Durham County Men.
In 1993, they produced their best work....their son, James. James has taken over the "Dobbo" nickname and inherited his parents sporting genes. James has already played for all Darlington senior teams at cricket and represented Durham CCC, even travelling to the UAE with Durham Under 17s.
Tim is very proud of his son's achievements and takes great enjoyment in follwing his son around the countries cricket fields usually accompanied by his ever faithful golden Retriever, Lara (named after the cricketer not the tomb raider!)
